The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a new mobile game based on the witcher saga, which is clearly inspired by the hit Pokemon GO. The debuting Polish studio Spokko is responsible for the production that has just been announced, using augmented reality technology.

The debuting Spokko studio in Warsaw, a piece of CD Projekt RED, quite unexpectedly announced its first project, which was based on a witcher license. The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a mobile game that uses augmented reality technology. The production is heavily inspired by the hit Pokemon GO and works in a similar way. Instead of catching pocket creatures during our walks, however, we hunt all kinds of fantastic beasts. The creators promise an interesting story set long before the events presented in Sapkowski’s novels and in the Witcher CD Projekt trilogy. Players take on the role of a witcher created by them, traversing the dangerous corners of the world of the series, which was imposed on our immediate vicinity. While wandering in randomly selected places, we will come across not only monsters, but also sellers and NPCs, thanks to which we will discover the next chapters of the story campaign.
The fight against three-dimensional opponents takes place in real time from the first person perspective. The authors note, however, that the key to success is not only strong and quick sword swinging. The proper training of the hero, the creation of useful potions and oils, the construction of bombs and the selection of the appropriate equipment for the task, will also be of great importance. We have to fight with at least several dozen different creatures, including those that we have not yet had the opportunity to defeat in other witcher games. The release date of The Witcher: Monster Slayer is not known at the moment. The game will probably make its debut on iOS and Android devices at the same time. We can also expect that we will be dealing with a typical free-to-play production.
